I can’t believe another month has passed and it’s time for another Vintage Pattern Project reveal!!!
When we first started talking about this project, Jodi said she wanted to mix in some different theme months, and said that in the Spring she’d like to do a picnic. That sort of got my wheels turning and I had this vision of us doing a whole Betty Crocker / Stepford Wife throwback with the Spring month…. We set out to find props that worked and made sense, not only for the shoot but for the time period as well. Y’all know I’m not huge on props, but when they’re used properly I love them. This month is super cute and I just love how everything came together.
I’m also obsessed with this teal colored backdrop… I couldn’t love it more!!! In fact, I totally used it twice before April’s Vintage Pattern Project shoot, which I haven’t done up until now. I just had to see how it photographed!! And let’s talk for a moment about how EVERY SINGLE ONE of these ladies brought it!!! One of my favorite things about this project is that we work with regular women – sometimes people we’ve known our whole life, our close friends, or family members, people we’ve never met, and people who we’ve met but haven’t seen in a really long time… The results always amaze me. These women are gorgeous and drop all their insecurities in front of my camera. They show up and they hang out and talk and laugh and spend a few hours just being pretty and having fun, and even though most of them have very little experience in front of the camera – they all make it look effortless, like they have been doing this all their lives.
Thanks to everyone who had a hand in April’s shoot. Jodi, you’re insanely talented and I’ve had so much fun doing this each month with you!
