I love working with these Ultimate High School kids.

When I work with a high school senior, I really try to get to know them. I want to capture each individual’s unique essence, while also putting a little Shelby spin on it — you know: the thing that makes you choose ME as your photographer… I love making magic together.

For the Ultimate High School kids, I am getting to know them from Freshman year on… Which is amazing! By the time they’re Seniors, we’ll be like family!  That’s what I want all of my clients to feel like, though. Family. I want to be present for the big stuff, and I want to capture your moments. Freshman year through Senior year and well beyond that… I want to decorate your walls and have a little piece of me hanging over your fireplace. I know that sounds super cheesy, but it’s truly one of my favorite things about doing what I do.

Madeline is one of my UHS gals and we had a BLAST for her session!! I am a planner by nature. I keep a meticulous calendar and I like to know what is on the schedule for the day. It’s a whole OCD thing, but I won’t get into all of that here…

That being said, I also LOVE a session that doesn’t really have a plan. I love to hop in the car and find some cool places to shoot and just roll with it. I love not knowing exactly how the images are going to turn out because I don’t have any idea where we’ll even take them…

The only thing I knew for sure about this session was that we were going to wrap it at my favorite concrete wall and that we were going to use these concrete cylinder things. I knew we were wrapping with her volleyball uniform and I wanted to capture/use something spherical without actually going to the gym and using the volleyball. Otherwise, we just rode around and found some killer spots! I *LOVE* this session. I love the colors. I love her energy. I love everything about it!

Madeline is fun and full of energy and smiles, but she also can rock the “serious” face too. She plays volleyball at ERHS and is representing CLASS OF 2022!

I can’t wait to capture the next three years, too!
